RESIDENT INFORMATION / 03

Resident orientation

Attendance in a body is recommended. Familiarity with the body is covered in the first module.

THE PRACTICE

Body. Place. Participation.

The three anchors of a
sustained terrestrial posting.

I

Occupy your body.

Notice its ordinary requirements. Feed it, rest it, and establish which surfaces can bear its weight. A revelation may be scheduled after breakfast.

FIELD EXERCISE

Attend to one physical need before assigning it a cosmic meaning.

II

Learn your place.

Become familiar with a room, a route, a patch of ground. Local knowledge accumulates quietly. The planet does not issue a completion badge.

FIELD EXERCISE

Notice one detail you passed yesterday without seeing.

III

Take part.

Contribute to the life around you. Ask a question. Keep an agreement. Help put the chairs away. Belonging often begins after the official program ends.

FIELD EXERCISE

Do one useful thing that does not require an explanation of your purpose.

“No operator has yet agreed with all of Earth.”Earth Integration Manual · §6 · 1983

YOUR FIRST LOCAL WEEK

A modest orientation program.

  1. DAY 01

    Confirm the basics.

Locate water, food, somewhere to rest and the exit. The exit is useful even when you intend to stay.

  2. DAYS 02–03

    Learn one route.

Find an ordinary destination and return from it. Notice a landmark that is unlikely to walk away.

  3. DAYS 04–05

    Make one introduction.

Offer a usable name. Ask a question whose answer you are willing to hear. You need not establish a lifelong alliance before leaving.

  4. DAYS 06–07

    Repeat something useful.

Revisit a place. Prepare a meal. Keep a small agreement. Familiarity is an outcome worth recording.

FORM TI–4 / DAILY MAINTENANCE

Establish your
local coordinates.

An informal check-in for your current posting. Complete any items that apply.

This worksheet stays in this tab. Nothing is submitted to the Institute.

RECEPTION DESK

Before you
file a query.

Some questions recur across
most known forms of life.

Office hours

Monday–Friday, from the first reasonable thought until the kettle has been switched off.

If you arrive outside these hours, please remain in the present. Someone will be with you shortly.

Am I newly arrived, or simply having a week?

The Institute has found considerable overlap. Begin with ordinary needs and familiar company. Establishing your cosmological provenance is rarely the most useful first task.

Must I conceal my home dimension?

Discretion depends on context. Introduce yourself in terms the other person can respond to. Your entire origin story may be better suited to a second conversation, preferably one with seating.

Who is in charge of Earth?

Research maintains several folders on this question. Each refers to another folder. For immediate purposes, start with the person responsible for the room you are in.

Can I request a different body?

The equipment desk handles chairs, stationery and extension cords. Body reassignment is outside its remit. Please stop leaving shoes there as supporting evidence.

What if I begin to like it here?

Record the development without attempting to reverse it. Attachment to a place, a person or a particular bakery may indicate successful integration. Departure is not the only respectable outcome.

When is integration complete?

No final state has been established. Experienced personnel still encounter unfamiliar appliances. The Institute recommends ongoing practice and occasional dancing.

PRELIMINARY FINDING

Human enough.

No further questions. Please continue doing whatever that was.

This finding does not require you to be human.
